Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved TV shows like Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently following treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.
"He saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives shared in a message.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Television Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of hit series, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.
His film credits include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Away from his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was part of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote on social media.
The actor is remembered by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
