Former Physician Accused of Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have announced that a ex- doctor has been charged with carrying out sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
These allegations come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

Prosecutors outline the 45 charges he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
