Los Angeles witnessed citywide celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a thrilling seven-match World Series championship. Fans worldwide joined local residents in jubilation, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a franchise has achieved consecutive championships.
Victory Parade Draws Enormous Crowds
Local celebrations featured a downtown parade on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at Dodger Stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.
Online footage show thousands of Los Angeles residents packing downtown streets, many carrying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The team was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the masses, hoisting the Commissioner’s trophy proudly.
“My focus is already about the third time we’re going to do this,” the star player remarked through an interpreter.
The procession path ended at Dodger Stadium, where the team walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ spinning music and the artist cruising a light blue classic car around the field.

Festivities began well before the parade, with supporters lighting fireworks in the roads of the city center on Sunday night.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, awarded the MVP of the championship, commented directly about the win.
“We refuse to lose,” Yamamoto said. “I love the Dodgers. This city means everything to me.”

However, the team owner was met with a less warm welcome at the celebration. Recordings from the event seem to depict him taking the stage to a combination of applause and boos, with negative shouts interrupting his address.
The championship served as a bright spot in what has been a challenging year for the city. An approximate 225,000 people attended to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to team member one athlete, fans this year demonstrated as much if not more support.
“I feel like it’s almost double from last year,” he said. “These fans are crazy. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
