President Trump Calls Families of Attacked Military Soldiers to White House

President Trump announced on Sunday that he has asked the loved ones of a Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the executive mansion.

He added that he contacted her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Shooting

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a shooting on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in critical condition.

Vigils across the state have occurred in their memory.

Presidential Invitation

The president said he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the families of both soldiers of the state National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor her,” the president informed journalists. “And similarly with Andrew, recover or not.”

Public Reaction

Community members gathered over the past few days at the high school in the state to pay respects to Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the state guard as part of the president’s government program to assist public safety in Washington DC.

Honoring Beckstrom

“Sarah was the type of pupil that educators desired. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that lifted those around her,” Hankins, the head of her former high school, stated to the press. “She was kind, considerate and always willing to help others.”

Funeral details for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Judicial Steps and Policy Revisions

Law enforcement have indicted a 29-year-old suspect with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder while armed.

The tragedy led the government to suspend asylum applications and temporarily stop providing visas to holders of travel documents.

Condition of Wolfe

The airman, a native of the city, started his military career in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, per the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey said on television.

Attorney general Bondi stated on the program that she aimed to speak to his relatives.

Impact of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a military police officer with honor, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had bravery,” the governor informed the audience at the memorial. “Though her time ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
