Your Perfect Pocket Monster Tales: Z-A Super Form According to Your Zodiac Sign
This return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread enthusiasm across the fandom. Starting with the gradual reveal of newcomers before the title's release, to players developing strong views on the entire roster of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for enthusiasts to look forward to.
With numerous of the Super Forms boasting unique designs that highlight their personalities, one idea came to mind: What's the best way to link this with astrology? This list is inspired by a mix of intuition, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.
The Ram – Super Camerupt
Honestly, Houndoom was nearly selected for Aries, as they are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that inspire the most fear. However, a Mega Houndoom appears as constantly furious, which isn't typical of the Ram's energy, known for being fun, cheerful, and impulsive. This makes Aries far more akin to Mega Camerupt, which solely spews lava when provoked. Stay on the good side of either and benefit from a strong ally; if you cross them, prepare to get burned.
Taurus – Super Heracross
Much like a loyal Bull, the steadfast Heracross species, both in its standard and Super Form, has assisted numerous players in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, both the Pokémon and a Bull are also battle-oriented, and – be it their trainer or a strong opinion – will stand up for their side to the end. What about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, however, is its unashamed passion for treats. Several previous Pokédex entries mention their craving for tasty tree sap and how it employs its appendage to hoard it everything, which is pure Bull-sign vibe.
Gemini – Super Medicham
Observe this absolute royalty. It's impossible to tell me this Pokémon is not the soul of any gathering, offering an constant fountain of chatter to those who wants to listen. Much like an enrapturing, sociable Twins, it's incredibly easy to envision Mega Medicham mesmerizing an entire open area with their tales. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also mentions its ability to foresee an opponent's next moves, which seems very similar to a socially-savvy Gemini.
The Crab – Super Manectric
The Crab is widely regarded as the most emotional member of the zodiac, a passionate symbol famous for often getting absorbed in their emotions. According to the Pokédex, Mega Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “huge amount of electricity, but it's too much for Manectric to fully control,” which seems a lot like a classic Cancer emotional outburst. This Pokémon is also recognized for its ability to make a thundercloud over its own head – and if there’s one thing a Crab is going to do, it’s spoil their own parade.
Leo – Super Starmie
Oh, did you think I was planning to pick Pyroar for the king of the zodiac? Besides the reality that it would be far too on the nose, The Lion is clearly Super Starmie, the diva whose legs just went viral for being extremely glamorous (or terrifying, based on your taste). Fans couldn’t look away from the purple starfish, and that’s exactly the same energy a Lion offers to the scene. This Pokémon is also said to be broadcasting radio waves from its center out into space, and it’s typical of a Leo to be staging a performance, albeit for aliens.
The Maiden – Super Victreebel
The ever-prepared and constantly-worried Virgo is ideally represented in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with constant digestive issues. The zodiac symbol famous for being endearingly critical is clearly mirrored throughout this Pokémon’s whole evolutionary chain, from a perpetually surprised face like a Maiden when you inform them you lack a retirement plan, to its upside-down visage that’s just like the symbol a Maiden sends to the group chat when everyone says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of making a strategy.
Libra – Super Audino
Look at this gentle, empathetic being, who employs the sensors on its auditory organs to detect how others are feeling by their pulse. Consistently compassionate – occasionally to a detriment – and trying to keep the harmony, there are many Libras who would likely benefit from Super Audino's skills. Though, let’s be honest, it would likely just cause them to stress more about others.
Scorpio – Super Banette
Banette is a creature with a surprisingly sad origin: Abandoned as a doll, it gained sentient through pure hatred and swore revenge on its former owner. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “enhances its spitefulness.” That seems exactly like many conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpion loves karma and comeuppance, making them the perfect match with Super Banette.
Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha
Both Super Hawlucha and Archers are constantly staging a show. As a Sagittarius myself, the amount of occasions I’ve called myself some version of a “playful small jester” is innumerable. The showiest and most attention-seeking Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “flexes to display its strength.” I would do the very same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius counterpart I can think of.
Capricorn – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Super Absol has the power to foresee calamities ahead of time? That gives the exact same energy as a Capricorn, who tends to always believe they’re correct. Interestingly, much like a prophetic Super Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute initial Mega Evolution that players encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to join the ground floor of the Mega trend.
Aquarius – Super Chandelure
Detached air sign Water Bearer is possibly the non-flame placement that is most like a fire sign – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are numerous jokes about the Archer and Aquarius being chaotic accomplices. Super Chandelure's dual Ghost/Fire typing matches seamlessly with this, and the Super Form's general daunting aura is also very Water Bearer. If you weren’t already convinced, the Super Form's description says it “absorbs hatred and converts it into strength.” If that fails to exactly {encaps
